Bloomsburg Baseball Drops Doubleheader to Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, TN- The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a pair of games to Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies lost 6-0 in game one, and 6-1 in game two.

In game one the Huskies struggled offensively as Lincoln Memorial's Kyle Wakefield held the Huskies to just six hits over seven innings. Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/ Monsignor Bonner) led the Huskies going 2-3.

In game two, Bloomsburg jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after Preston Hitchcock (Laveyville/ Wyalusing Valley) scored on an RBI groundout by Ward. However that would be all the offense the Huskies could put together against the Railsplitter pitching staff in game two. Lincoln Memorial tied the game in the bottom of the inning and then added one run in the third, one in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Vinnie James (Bristol/ Bristol) and Matt Robinson (York/ Red Lion) each went 2-4 to lead Bloomsburg offensively.

Bloomsburg (5-10) will visit Lock Haven on March 24 at noon.
